Sharks worldwide are in unprecedented decline, hopefully increased awareness is achieved by a close encounter with this supreme predator.
I believe that if the licensed operator (7 in Gansbaai) acts responsibly towards both animal and tourist, the conservation benefits for this species outweighs many unproven controversy’s surrounding the activity. I would only recommend certain responsible conservation proven companies and crew.

The horses used are South African Crossbreeds, enduring and well adapted to the environment, they are the key to a special opportunity to ride through the wonderful, untouched nature of the region.

Pearly Beach Stroll

This short stroll (2-3 hours) guided by Beachcomber Guide is aimed at people visiting the area with a few hours to spare and offers a short interesting insight into the local marine ecology. Spend a few hours exploring the shore’s colourful rock pools and their amazing creatures, discover Khoisan history and the many medicinal coastal plants on an investigative short walking trail.

Take a slow 3km walk along the Pearly Beach village coastline.  It is not called the pearl of all beaches for nothing!  This pristine environment mixes rugged rocky shores, white sandy beaches with intimate turquoise swimming pools, fynbos covered sand dunes and great whale watching July to December.
Visit the beachcomber Marine kiosk for in-depth background on our coastal ecosystems, then stroll over to the Fynbos centre and fynbos garden where there is an informative display of fresh coastal fynbos.
